Monumental Tower


Torre Monumental

Av. del Libertador and Av. Ramos Mejia.

Commonly called English Tower, was donated by the British residents to commemorate the 100th. anniversary of the May Revolution 1810. It has 60 mts. height, and a combination of red bricks and curved stones. The structurer is located on a plinth with four steps at each side and outlets in their corners. Subway Line C exit Estacion Retiro.

National Historical Museum of the Cabildo and May Revolution

Museo Historico Nacional del Cabildo y la Revolucion de Mayo

Did you know that May 25th. is the most important patriot day of Argentina history? And the Cabildo of Buenos Aires was the seat of the May Revolution of 1810. It was the main institution of the city during colonial times. And it is one of Buenos Aires' oldest buildings that suffered many modifications. It is guarded by Granaderos (the National Guard). The museum keeps the memory of Colonial times. At the museum we see pieces of furniture, personal objects and portraits of members of the Cabildo and Primera Junta de Gobierno, and historical documentation. Subway line E exit Estacion Bolivar.
