Scenographic Mural


It is located at the entrance of La Boca, in front of Lezama Park, in the junction of Almirante Brown and Martin Garcia Avenues. It represents typical things of the area, such as the conventillo, the cafe and tango. We can also appreciate emblematic people of La Boca, such as Quinquela Martin, Juan de Dios Filiberto, Carlos Gardel, Volunteer Firemen and Diego Maradona.

Carlos Gardel


Carlos Gardel is perhaps the most prominent figure in the history of tango. Although his birthplace is disputed between Argentina, Uruguay and France, he lived in Argentina from the age of two and acquired Argentine citizenship in 1923. He is commonly referred to as “Carlitos”, “The King of Tango”, “El Mago” (The Magician) and “El Mudo” (The Mute).

A must stop for tango lovers. In this house, turned into a museum, Carlos Gardel and his mother lived until 1933, last year of the singer in Buenos Aires before he traveled to France. Subway Line B exit Estacion Carlos Gardel.
